I am currently using Opera 9.51 which has a proper download manager.
I really liked Safari overall, except for the download manager.
The download manager in Safari XP is really crappy. On many websites it does
not allow simultaneous downloads. This mainly happens at manufacturers websites
for driver downloads. With Opera or Firefox I can download multiple links at the same
time and walk away until they are finished. With Safari it literally downloads one
at a time, and you manually have to click on the next download after the first one has finished. Also the download manager that pops up often does not show your download
progress, just a blue bar with no percentage or total mb.
I tried this on two machines, same result. I googled looking for a third party download
manager that integrated with Safari XP and there doesn't seem to be any.
Has anyone else noticed the same download limitations for Safari?
I would really like to get a satisfactory download manager solution and use Safari as
my primary browser, it seems to work great in everything else.
