Saddam's WMD hidden in Syria, says Iraq survey chief(Kay)

linkage

David Kay, the former head of the coalition's hunt for Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, yesterday claimed that part of Saddam Hussein's secret weapons programme was hidden in Syria.

In an exclusive interview with The Telegraph, Dr Kay, who last week resigned as head of the Iraq Survey Group, said that he had uncovered evidence that unspecified materials had been moved to Syria shortly before last year's war to overthrow Saddam.

"We are not talking about a large stockpile of weapons," he said. "But we know from some of the interrogations of former Iraqi officials that a lot of material went to Syria before the war, including some components of Saddam's WMD programme. Precisely what went to Syria, and what has happened to it, is a major issue that needs to be resolved."

I don't get it? How does one know that something was moved without knowing what was moved? Did someone tell him that they are aware of something...just not sure what that something is?

Wait! Let me answer that: Reports that say something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know.

See?

Oh wait . This the Telegraph, right? The same people who broke the story of the now infamous memo? (btw, who linked that story 😉 ) Not saying this story is bogus also, just saying that, due to past articles by the Telegraph, questions should be asked before accepting this one. 😉

Yep. Charrison will say he "just posts the news", but curiously, he was the same poster that posted that other Telgraph "breaking story" about the memo you mentioned...

Puh-leeze! this won't even pass the sniff test, it reeks to high heaven.

Neither Kay nor the Admin in general has any more credibility concerning WMD's than a repeat child molester applying for a job at a daycare center...

i gnerally like to see multiple sources of info about something before i start giving it any credence. Even I take the Telegraph with a "grain of salt"

Last time I checked they were both from legitimate sources....

Everything (all reports) quotes Kay only.
Syria denies it (as expected).

Kay and compnay will need to present some actual documentation.

This scenario is very probable, both sides helping each other out. Similar scenario was in GWI where Iraq fighters were sent to Iran for protection.

There was probably no actual weapons shipped, just the equipment, critical components & research

Nuts and bolts?

charrison, I went thru your links, everyone of them on the front page. Almost everyone of them says something like "Kay reportedly told the British Telegraph...". And those that didn't mention the Telegraph (2 I think) didn't quote Kay...they only said something like "Kay said..."
Could you show me these differing sources?

After we take over Syria and don't find them there they will claim they are in Iran.

We do not need to take over Syria. Just stop them from supporting the terrorist community.

Note that we did not take over Afganistan.

That's brilliant. These idiots need to get off this bandwagon unless you have photos of stacks of weapons and GPS coordinates at this point..and evern then I need some damn evidence that they intend to do something to us with them.

This was an interview with the telegraph. I am sure there will be more to follow.
