Apparently documents were found in Iraq that list names of hundreds of people who were given very lucrative middleman deals on oil trades in exchange for political support between 1997 and 2003.

Notables on the list include a close associate and financial backer of Chirac and members of Putin's cabinet.

But I'm sure this is just a coincidence and has nothing to do with the French and Russian positions regarding the war.

This is a different source and a different article anyway.

Is ABC a fair enough source for you?
