The world's going to Hell in a handbasket...

Yep, and so many cant wait for it to happen. I am starting to think intelligence is an evolutionary liability.

Really?

This is a fallacy in the minds of the young.

I am sure the Jews in Nazi camps thought the world was ALREADY in hell in a handbasket in the 40s.
Or the 10s of millions of civilians who died in WWII probably thought they were already in hell also.
Or the Chinese civilians who were fodder for the Japanese as they conquered China most probably thought the world was in hell.
Or, more recently, the participants in Vietnam (both sides) probably thought the world had already gone to hell also.
Or, even further back, when the nation was engaged in Civil war and brother was fighting brother I am sure most felt the world had gone to hell at that point.

etc, etc, etc, etc.

Pfft. We live in an era of spoiled, coddled, powderpuffs who develop irritable bowel syndrome at the mere thought of being inconvenienced with problems in the world.

hopefully this doesn't happen but i've been fearing this since the beginning
i'm surprised he hasn't done this already. he appears to be playing a very close endgame. he must know the denouement is
near and the only questions that remain for him is whether he'll seek vengeance or accept the option of exile as many felllow
autocratic arab states are hoping.

if saddam chooses to stay and fight, he will resort to every vile and unstatesman-like option within his arsenal: chemical
and biological agents, iraqi terrorist cells, alliances with foreign terrorist groups, infrastructure sabotage, dedicated urban
combat to prolong the inevitable and maximize u.s. fatalities, hostage taking (not necessarily u.n. personnel), and might
possibly incite major tribes aligned with his own (in takrit) to civil war to make the peace more detestable than the war
for the u.s. and her allies.

his option to fight may be more appealing than exile because i would think that the new iragi government would not grant
him amnesty against the laundry list of human right violations and would likely demand his extradition back to iraq or write
him off to the hague for international trial. he and slobo might soon be bunk buddies.

I say Bush goes in alone. 😉 Why bring all these troops in on it, on either side? This is obviously between him and Sadaam. 😛
The millitary is VASTLY made up of Republicans who support Bush and are ready to do what they know must be done.
Proof??? The military is vastly made up of Americans who are ready to do what they know should be done

You've never spent much time near a military base have you? Just look at the percentages from the apsentee ballets.
