<< Saddam Hussein has had a major stroke and may even be dead, according to Egyptian security sources.
The Iraqi dictator has not been seen since a New Year?s Day parade when he was shown on Iraqi TV firing his gun into the air. Reports say he was taking the salute from his military when he collapsed.

Sky News sources in Baghdad say that while all is quiet on the streets of the Iraqi capital there has been increased troop movement around Saddam?s presidential palace.

Why is there no mention of this in the mainstream US media? Until I see it there, this is unsupported and of no importance,IMHO.

Riiiiight, because everyone knows the US media is the definitive truth. What they don't report, hasn't happened.

>>Maybe HE caught one of those bullets he is always firing into the air.<<

I heard some poor guy in Calif cought one in the chest that he fired in the air new years. Poor guy died. Yet everytime you see these people in the middle east, like the PLO in Isreal, they are firing live ammo in the air without any regard for where it lands. These guys are yoyos. :(

Tripleshot,

BTW, don't get me wrong -- I certainly don't believe that this story is definitely true. I just don't like the idea of depending on the US media for truth (which I'm hoping you do not).

Scary. Remember, Saddam is the one that keeps the more radical arab extremests inline. You can hate the man, but with him gone, there will be a power vacuum and instability within the Arab world. just my two cents.

I depend on ruaters and AP wire service. They feed the mainstream media such as cnn and msnbc, the two I keep a close watch on. That source reminded me of something like a drudge report,of which that type I stay far away from.

Edit........Update...........

Cnn just reported tha Iraq claims the story is "stupid". The cnn reported that the iraq leader became sick and went to a hospital, probably bad food or to much booze. lets wait for more definitive info. I wouldn't believe anything an Iraq reporter told me either.:disgust:

He is going to die sooner or later with the same result. May as well be sooner, it'd rid the world of one evil at least.

with him gone, there will be a power vacuum and instability within the Arab world. just my two cents.

Whatever the case, there is some truth to this story I'm sure. Something happened, I'm just not sure what.

I was reading this old science fiction anthology the other day, and it mentioned specifically that "a certain leader in the Middle East" should be targetted for a DNA-specific illness.

Hrm... Are we really that good at biological warfare? Even if not, it makes a good story...

sky news isn't exactly a shady source... its the same as cnn but for people not in north america. in fact, its owned by rupert murdoch who owns fox and the manchester united. the "other" media mogul. bet the story was on fox pretty quick.
