Well I finally got around to selling my car and I sold it pretty quickly. Hate to see it go. Now we are down to one car for the next month while we wait to head overseas.

I'm going to miss the M3...I love that S54 engine. It will be really tempting to get another when I return to the states.

Didn't seem like you had it that long.

Good luck overseas. Hope you continue posting here.

my manager had to sell his 2011 M3 and bought a brand new hyundai elantra because they moved to a new/more expensive house and it was just too tough to pay for it. i can't imagine having to make that drastic of a change lol.

Haha..me either...although I have no idea when I'll be buying a new car...so maybe my change is even more drastic.

Just short of 2 years....oh well...so it goes. Didn't sell it for much less than I bought it...so no great loss.

At least you got a few seasons in. Would have sucked if you were still in honeymoon phase lol

How long are you overseas?

The current plan is 3-5 years. The plan is to live downtown Vienna...so we don't really need cars there. We'll see what happens.

Are you going to be on House Hunters International?

Now that would be cool! I had a blast looking at places in Malaysia about 15 years ago, way before the advent of the show. I catch the International version whenever possible now. I certainly wouldn't mind another overseas assignment someday.

That sounds fantastic!!!!

My wife spent more time there than I did but I must say that city is truly magical. From seeing Klimt in the subways to having the best damn meat sandwich in the world from a cart its truly an awesomesauce city.

If you start missing cars do a rental and drive to the ring!!

I would rather live in Vienna than own an M3. Get ready to experience the magic of European life...you may never want to return to the USA.

The ring is definitely on my to-do list while I'm over there. Thanks...I really hope it all goes well...the city does seem awesome.

Totally agree. Still hate to see the car go...but it is just a thing and the experience is worth much more.

Not really. I have known quite a few single guys with $1000-2000 car payments and simple flats they rent. Plenty left over for entertaining/saving/etc.

They meet a chick, fall in love, knock out a kid or two and now they need to upgrade living arrangements. That $1500-2000 per month rental, becomes a $3000-4000 per month mortgage with a $250/month HOA fee :) Not to mention the $1000-2000/month for Pre-K and daycare/etc.

Sort of prices them out of the fun stuff for a bit.

I was in Europe for 5 months on study abroad. Don't get me wrong I loved it, but I was ready to come home at the end.

Home to me will always be Southern California :)

I was in Maui for 2 weeks and at the end I wanted to come back to the daily grind. Same with 7-day cruises. Just something about HOME.
