the 24-70L was my favorite and its a sad day to see it packed up to be shipped out tomorrow...hopefully my sadness will be replaced with overwhelming joy with the 85L II gets here on wednesday...its true what they say...once you go prime you never go back...it all started with the sigma 50, then the 135L...next up is a 35L...

There's no chance you regret it. I've owned the 35 and 135, but sold them an downgraded b/c I couldn't justify the cost. I will own the 24 at some point, though.

Oh goodness. You'll love it. I keep borrowing my friend's 85L even though I have the 1.8 myself. So yes, even between those two, there is a difference.

Honestly... I would've gotten the 35L first.

I have both the 35L and 85L II and I use the 35L about 90% of the time. It's just a more useful focal length for EVERYTHING though the 85L does rule the portrait world.

any huge difference between the sigma 50 vs the 35L, besides the obvious 15mm? i'm wondering if i should keep the 50...

I don't ever use my sigma 50 anymore... like... never. I haven't mounted that lens on my camera since getting the 35L. I'm about to get rid of the sigma 50 and get the canon 45 ts-e instead.
