Given the amount of human life lost during this Tsunami disaster, material things really can't and never should compare, but to see something like this happen is still a shame nonetheless.

I'm going to assume this was a Nissan plant considering you can clearly male out Z's and possibly Infiniti FX's or EX's.

The image seen above was taken above Hitachinaka city in Ibaraki prefecture, and we don't have any information as to which manufacturer's cars were located here.

Interesting in the middle how the cars domino stacked. And you must have better eyes than me as I can't clearly make out any make from such low res.

Really guys? Takes about ten seconds.

Yes. They will have flood titles now and the ones that have minor body damage will find their way to auction I imagine.

They domino because the rear is more buoyant, engine is in the front after all.

reminds me of the pictures from a few years ago with the flipped over train carrying a load of GTO's. Just makes you say "man that sucks"

I would love to buy one of those and just strip the engine+tranny out. They should be fine..

Actually I think a lot of parts will be fine.

I'm not so sure. Flooding drivetrain components with sea water then letting them sit for weeks and months before they get dealt with won't do great things for them.

That's the thing, if one got to it within hours it may be possible to get the water out of the cylinders before corrosion begins but sitting for a long period one would have to assume the motor will need to be dismantled for at least a hone-job..

I think you'd be surprised at how fast the water receded from the cars. It is likely that the water did not get into many components that would have been filled by a more typical flood situation.
