Sad news for WWF fans

From Da(ve) Meltz(er):

Regarding rumors of WWF making the Monday night time slot on TNN into WCW Raw, that is the case. There are going to be so many major changes between now and the end of July that it's pretty much impossible to figure out how people will react and what's good and bad. We'll just have to take it week by week as it comes. So far, I haven't been blown away. But this is not the last risk by any chance we'll be seeing.

Noooo how could they turn Monday into WCW?? This is like moving Monday Night Football to..Thursday, or if you start playing baseball games at 10 a.m. every morning. RAW has been on Monday for just as long as I could remember, and now..

And in other news...

As far as Jerry Lawler goes, I'm sure there will be a push to get Lawler in until the day he comes back. I don't know at what stage the deal is in at this moment or if the Chyna situation may clear a way for a solution for everyone to save face or not, but it would make all the sense in the world for Lawler to come back as WCW announcer as part of the angle. I could see Jim Ross and Lawler as a team on Raw, or Ross and Paul Heyman on Smackdown and Michael Cole and Lawler on Raw stemming from the way the angle on Smackdown played out last night.

That's interesting.

<< I don't like anything that comes out of Dave Meltzer's mouth >>

I don't like anything that goes in your mouth either :Q

But to not trust what the Meltz says is to deny yourself of accepting greatness.

GoldenBear funny how you mention in the other threads how mature you are. What I said is my opinion. I've been following Dave Meltzer probably longer than you and I know not to believe everything that he mentions. There's a chance that what he said is true, after all he is an insider, but I take it as a grain of salt.

Grow up man, cause it looks like nobody likes you here.

Explain exactly what he has said recently that hasn't been true?

And someone else who's more reputable than Melzter?

What he's been saying recently has been true most of the case, that I'll admit. But if you follow his career, you'll notice that he makes a lot of assumptions before they need to take place. That's one thing that I don't like about him.

And someone else who's more reputable than Melzter?

Dave Sherer IMHO is much more reputable than Dave Meltzer right now. Of course Meltzer is well know because he's been around longer and he has more connections in the wrestling industry, that's why more people know him. But I think Sherer and 1wrestling has more solid facts when it comes to news and stuff.

BTW....I am associated with different indi wrestling groups so pardon me if my opinion is a little biased.

So as of recently, Meltzer has been accurate..what makes you doubt this story?

And 1wrestling I believe, I don't recall if it's Scherer or Ryder or whomever, said that Bret Hart was coming back soon?

They are better than the elitist ones at the Torch though..

Well, I'll believe it once it happens. It is possible with the state of WWF trying to get a spot on TV. But like I just said....I'll believe it once it happens. If Raw does turn into WCW Raw then, trust me, I'll give him his dues.

I don't recall any of them saying that Bret Hart will definitly be back. The one guy that I hate very much at 1wrestling is Tommy Fierro. I'm not sure if he mentioned something like that. But I dought it that it was a news story(which Tommy Fierro doesn't do).

This is rediculous. Screw WCW now, I don't want them messing up the WWF.

I mean RAW and Smackdown are barely enough together to give all the WWF guys airtime, and now they want to cut it down to one show? Well hell, they may as well just fire half the roster while their at it, because thats all their going to have time for.

And as for Chyna, I could care less if she leaves. The entire womens division is a joke anyway. They should just drop it and give the younger guys some airtime.

It was in the news section, and the headline originally said "Bret Hart to come back to WWF", with a story inside that said they heard from a "good source" that it'll happen, and was later changed to, "Bret Hart to come back to WWF?" with the "?". That really did it in for me there as quite unprofessional, which is not to mention the 2 million popups you get everytime you go there..

I also found this..Just like what was posted and comes from a good source.

Reports indicate WWF has decided to go with a "WCW RAW" like program on their Monday timeslot with TNN at 9:00PM - 11:00PM Eastern Time. This is a very familiar wrestling timeslot so WCW's ratings should be very remarkable for a new promotion if the product is good. This would lead WWF fans wondering where there program will be and that is expected to air on Thursday's on UPN 8:00PM - 10:00PM Eastern Time. SmackDown! would move from a taped format to live format each Thursday night and SmackDown! would pretty much become the new RAW is WAR, or main-WWF show per week. This idea seems to be as close as confirmed as possible, but is not yet officially noted.

- As a bit of an update on Jerry Lawler making a WWF return, it is now known the WWF management will again go after Lawler with a deal to try and obtain his services for the new WCW. WWF officials should know by now that if they have any interest in Lawler at all, they better have some sort of deal ready for The Kat, Stacy Carter as well. With rumors of Kat being dumped as a result of Chyna's dislike for her, now that Chyna is parting ways with the company, we could find out if that was the reason because if Kat and Lawler are immediately brought back, this would definately lean towards a sign that it was in fact the reason Stacy was released. It would really fit in with the current WCW invasion storylines for Lawler to work for the new promotion under Vince's son, and if this were to happen we may even see a feud between Paul Heyman and Jerry Lawler, but that is definately foreshadowing a bit far

OMG OMG MORE BIG NEWS

<< --Expect Chris Benoit to be taking time off ASAP. He'll be working the main event tomorrow. Not sure how things will be handled after that, if they'll do an injury angle in the next few days or some other way to write him out. No word on whether he'll need neck surgery or not at this point. >>

So as of now my prediction for KotR stands as Benoit selling an injury through the match leaving Jericho on his own against Austin and WINNING. That would be awesome.

Lawler's coming back to the WWF? Good---now maybe he won't have time to do the stupid commercials and ads for his Fireworks business.

I heard they were going to finish it with both jericho and benoit putting their submission on at the same time then when austin taps they don't know who the real winner is.

I would prefer this since I don't have cable and RAW is the main show.

I don't think they'd put Smackdown on live unless they put Smackdown on cable - too much profanity and things that can go wrong to be putting it on broadcast television. You can't bleep everything out

Having Austin lose the title before The Rock gets back is stupid - even if he happens to gain it back Monday night on Raw.

Benoit is suck. Don't know why they ever bother to promote him. He's got as much personality as gingivitis. Good good they rid of him.

what is DSS?

Anyone noticed that WWF is kinda boring now that Rock's left, HHH's gone, and Austin's a bad guy? They are replacing the Rock with Benoit? What a poor trade. They should make Angle #1. It's true, It's true.

A tamed down WWF program is a good one. Ever remember the time the PTC really got on them and they really tamed stuff down? That was a GREAT three-four week run, and their ratings even went up, and everyone won.

If Austin just cleanly wins it would've been stupid to build him up for the past few weeks as they did. I do see him losing it back the next night though..

History would dictate itself too )although the WWF aren't really big on that sort of thing), as as won his...

First title at WM '98
Second title the day after Kotr '98

Third title at WM '99
Fourth title the day after Kotr '99

Fifth title at WM '01
...

They just need to put Perry Saturn on the mic for half the show...now that would be great!

YOUR WELCOME!
