:(
Not often do you hear about "centenarians" <sp?> in this day and age.
But my beloved great grandmother, who turned 105 in January passed away.
I am mourning, but know she is finally resting peacefully.
She immigrated from Italy in the early 1900's and moved to Florida, lived her entire life as a deaf mute, she was and still is an inspiration for me.
I will miss her.
Rest in Peace Grandma Ballaro

uh, ya, how do you think she was my grandma?
Our entire family (on her side) learned sign language at an early age.

My maternal grandmother died of breast cancer long before I was born, yet I miss her having only some writing and a portrait as memory along with stories of her life and stories of her struggles, victories, and experiences. My maternal grandfather also died what must be 6 years ago now without my saying goodbye since we were in different countries.

I mourn with you.

but there is also

Cheers ! :)

Good for Her!

It is not always the case with others in this world. It is good to see that her was interesting, and hopefully fruitful.

Unfortunately, my Grandmother is deteriorating quickly. I fear she won't make it until I graduate college(damn 5 year EE prog)
I still love her and spend as much time as I can with here when I go and visit her in Canada....

I too, hope you got to say goodbye. Even so, I'm glad that you are accepting this and trying to go on.

BEst wishes.

thx everyone.
Although I did not get to say goodbye, I am glad she was able to see my daughter when we visited last year.
Amazing to see 5 generations in one room.

Just think, she was a little girl when the Wright Brothers flew at Kitty Hawk!
