gameplay wise or graphics wise? dont forget if ur talking graphics wise the demo has been severely castrated on the graphics part in order to keep the download size small, also a lot of animations were heavily compressed so in that regard the demo isnt representative of the actual retail shipping game...gameplay wise i found it hard to get a hang of....

Well, gameplay. Graphics is secondary for me. (I did find some outstanding graphics here and there in the demo.)

This is the first game of its type I have ever played and frankly, I found it too easy.

Sacrifice is the first strategy-type game I've played, so my impressions may be off a little. The graphics are awesome. There's nothing better out there, detail wise. The models and animations especially are great. Gameplay? Well, it's fun but it could be better. It's hard to get a big picture view of the whole world. It's tough that way because there's stuff going on all over the map. You have the mini map, but it's a little frustrating to have to use it so much. Also, the core of the game is stocking your party, but it takes so long to convert those souls. It makes it hard to keep a party. But then again, I think the game is pretty hard, so if it was easy for you...it could just be my inexperience. Now if only I could find a way to back this game up.

JeSpre, are you talking about the full-version? The demo doesn't save.

I never played a strategy game of this type before (I am looking to expand away from the "shooter-type" games). It just seemed if you followed the training sessions suggestions - keep a full party of varied-type helpers; defend your strategic areas; convert souls (use speed-up spells); and support your troops with magic spells and good formations in battle while desecrating the opponent's alter - you can't lose. At least the few demo campaigns seemed ridiculously easy. I never played through a demo so quickly.

The graphics were fine but gameplay seemed a bit weak (uninspired/uninteresting?). I just wanted to know if the full version differed much from the demo - I almost liked it.

Let me put it another way; I played Half-life and was instantly hooked. Doubly so from the MDK2 demo. I wanted to BUY these games. This one doesn't have that kind of hook because the demo seems to be missing something that may be in the full-version).

Apoppin, your last response reminds me how different people can be. When I played the demo for sacrafice I was completely blown away and made it my next game to buy. The only problem was my sister bought it for me for the holidays. As a result it sits waiting for me on the floor of her closet. Anyway just remeber to one person this will be the greatest game ever made and to others it will be worst one ever made.

No, I'm talking about backing the CD up. It has some twist of Safedisc that can't be copied as of yet (even though I did Delta Force:Land Warrior and NOLF just fine).

I know what you mean about a "hook" though. This game just doesn't seem to have it. It's hard to pinpoint why, because it doesn't do anything particularly 'bad'. I just think it's held back by it's lack of variety. It seems very open-ended as far as decision-making, but that may be where it's lacking (story, mission, etc.) because it's the same thing over and over again (so far).

Been meaning to download the demo as some reviews have been good. However, even the reviews mention flaws. The only that stands out is the fact that, apparently, once you begin a slight soul advantage over the AI, it's easy to quickly win. And once you're in a soul disadvantage, it's easy to lose. Not sure if that pertains more to the single or multi-player game. Also, the camera system is weird. The battles are basically "throw in all creatures and don't die yourself". Doesn't sound like much fun.

Anyway, graphically it looks amazing but what game out now isn't? It could be a good game to pickup from the discount bin in about 6 months.

Thanks for all the input. I read a few more reviews and it appears the game is much more than the demo.

But I'd still like to hear from forum members that are playing the full version.

I have the full version. Let me tell you, the first few campaigns for each god are fairly easy. Most people will be able to breeze right through after a few attempts (if not on the first try). I have played through the first 4-5 levels of Persephone, Charnel, and Pyro. I am on level 6 Per, and 5 for the other 2 (I think). The missions get a lot harder. Start out with a lot fewer souls than the AI for starters. Lots of fun though. Gonna try out the MP at my friends house this weekend.

I like the story the most. Granted it is the same story for each of the gods, but you get a different perspective by playing one of the other gods... Nice touch. I can't wait to finaly finish this game. If any one has some pointers on the Persephone level where you have to get out of Stygia (against 2 Charnel wizards), please help me out. Starting to piss me off... Also on the Pyro one where you are trying to get slaves for his device (from James), and the Charnel mission where you have to keep gangrel (I think that's his name) alive and banish Yogo. Thanks for any help.

Sorry fot the OT post... If you want any further comments or have questions feel free to contact me.
