Sacred 2 on Win7

On the Hot Deals forum there is a deal for Sacred II: Fallen Angel and Divinity II: Ego Draconis for 12.49, but it seems that impulse lists Sacred 2 as not working with Windows 7. Sacred 2 is a game I've been interested in, so the question is has anyone here been able to get Sacred 2 to run on Windows 7? If so, did you just have to run it in compatibility mode?

Even though I live in NA I actually got the UK version of Ice and Blood (2.65.1) which works perfectly fine on Win 7 64 bit. No compatibility mode required.

I would also recommend Dragon Knight Saga over Ego Draconis, DK is much more polished overall.

I had no problems getting Sacred 2 to run on Vista (the steam version), dont know about Win7. I was disappointed in the game though.

Definitely get the Dragon Knight saga instead of just Ego Draconis. Dragon Knight Saga on steam when I got it was actually cheaper than just the original game itself. After some initial frustration, I really grew to like the Dragon Knight game. Be sure to get the original game plus the expansion though, because the ending of the original game really sucked and was obviously meant to lead into the expansion.

To chime in: it's hit or miss for some people with Windows 7 and Sacred 2. I've usually traced the culprit down to PhysX features. Turning those off helps to improve stability. About the only thing they added was some extra leaves flying around and responding to some abilities (they'd get caught up in spells, for example). Anywho, if you *really* want Sacred 2, go with the UK/International gold edition. It has the expansion plus is updated. The US version of Sacred 2 got abandoned when the original developers went under.

Though, if that deal is still valid, it's a helluva combo, even though you miss out on each game's relevant expansions.

Mine works perfectly fine on Win7 64bits. Heard about some having problems running the game on that OS but like kami said, it's a hit or miss thing.

One thing you could do before charging up the game for the first time it to run the game as administrator (right click on the desktp icon and go from there).
