Seriously, how can you not like a game where you have to find Blind Guardian's instruments and then once you do, they give you a free concert and all of their instruments as rewards?

the in game video concert is pretty awesome! it's a video cut scene of the band (rendered in the game) playing a song in front of tons of monsters.

Sacred and Blind Guardian ROCK!!

Well, Sacred 2 in its own right is quite a good game overall, its has its drawbacks however, one of them (at least for me) being that every single mobs scale in levels at the exact same pace than the player, which in the end makes leveling itself absolutely non-rewarding and somewhat senseless. You start at Level 1, of course, and all monsters around you are Level 1, that's already bad to start with, there are of course some exceptions where you'll see some "champion" at Level 2, or maybe 3, but that's it (outside of "bosses" of course).

When you get to Level 2, 90% of the monsters are Level 2, and so on and so on. My character is Level 21 right now, and all the monsters I first met outside of the starting monastery in the beginning are now Level 21, but I'm still playing in the exact same difficulty setting. I understand just why they decided to do that, but in practice it ain't rewarding much, other of course than to apply new skills to your characters, but the challenge remain roughly the same whether or not you advanced in Levels. And, also, the regular monsters don't acquire new skills or tactics when they level up, they just act as before when they were Level 1.

There's a few other things I don't like, but overall it can be enjoyable, I'd give it a solid 6.7/10 or so. The environment however is just superb, very beautiful to look at (at least at highest settings with either High or Elite settings with the Elite textures add-on which by itself only makes a difference in a very few select locations and textures such as grass and tree leaves, at least from what I've observed so far). The game world is almost as big as Oblivion's Cyrodiil but from another perspective (I'm not even exaggerating, maybe it's even bigger, I'm just roughly estimating). The visual effects during combat, from the skills and magic, etc, are also very pleasing to look at (and the next patch will bring extra PhysX effects to them, from what I've read).

At first I preferred Titan Quest, but overall I'd say that after I played more time with Sacred 2 that it ends up being a superior game to Titan Quest in some areas, while in others it's either the same or inferior (I preferred the diversity of the enemies in Titan Quest, to mention one thing). And additionally, a superior aspect of Sacred 2 over Titan Quest and even Diablo II is the fact that your character has some lines, some speech during combat, depending on what's going on, granted though, that dialog is often cheesy and unfitting (for example a seriously kick-ass Seraphim chanting «yeepeeee!» after impaling some bandit with her sword) but at least it makes the character a little more "alive" and "there" when compared to the rather silent protagonists of other RPGs out there. But, yeah, as I said it's alright, and for me until Diablo II's next patch is released I'll stick with Sacred 2 for my monsters bashing and slashing thirst.

Each region of the map has a level cap. This cap changes depending on difficulty. Also, a monster that you fought at level 1 will be easier to kill when you are level 10 since, as you stated, monsters act the same no matter what level they are while the player gets new skills, gear, better distribution of attribute/skill points, etc.

But I would have preferred to see them having new resistances and capabilities. It's just a matter of taste in the end, or I'm just used to Diablo II's mobs gaining in strength, dexterity, capabilities, resistances, etc, depending both on the Act/Location you play in and the difficulty setting.

I was so pissed! I did that quest, and then then hit the dial on my G15 to turn up the audio, and the cut scene stopped, so I missed all of it. :|

Loving the game though.
