I swear the developers of the game (and it's patches) just don't want people to play this game. The nightmares with the issues of installing, updating, uninstalling, etc. And now the 2.43 patch seems to be blatantly incompatible with Windows 7.

I thought I might have been the only one after installing the game tonight, but alas, I'm not. I love this game, but I think I might have to go back to Titan Quest... This is just ridiculous.

I've played both games and definitely prefer Titan Quest.

And yeah, installation for Sacred 2 is beyond a joke.

When I sold my Wii games and promised myself a PC game to play and Sacred 2 was one of those I took a long hard look at. I am rather glad I went elsewhere.

FMC - I suggest you take a peek at Torchlight and our sizable thread on the game. Could be right up your street.

If you think the PC version is buggy, good thing you didn't buy the console version. I have both the PC and Xbox versions and let me tell you... It ain't pretty. The Xbox version runs like crap, has so many bugs, crashes and is unfinished. A prime example would be including all the skills you can learn but "forgetting" a button to one of them (blacksmithing). You just can't use it but can spend points into it. Or shields... no indicators whatsoever on how much there's left, you just see it on and when it's depleted you see it go off. ALl the menus are terrible and the stats screen is one pile of things that are almost impossible to figure out. Also, sometimes you can't scroll pages on the screens, distribute points... It's that bad - on a console!

The PC version is polished compared to that (that will tell you something). Both are turds though. Developer went bankrupt so don't expect any new patches. Someone bought the rights to the expansion but with what we were given on the standard game I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole. Maybe for free, I guess I could endure all the frustration then.

Sad thing is, if you take out all the nasty bugs out, the game was VERY fun. Bugs killed it though.

No bugs for me with Sacred 2. I played it quite a bit then got bored and haven't touched it for weeks. Still using XP on a three year old rig (will replace rig and OS all at once soon) so I don't know about Win 7. Torchlight seems more fun though I haven't yet put in the same hours I did with Sacred 2.

Wow. I bought Torchlight on the recommendation of Elcs, and wow. Game is just great. And the performance is just wonderful. Granted, it feels much like a flash game, but it's fun, so I don't care. I just wonder how long it is. :)

Glad to hear you're having low budget, high quality fun.

On my first run through on very hard, I think my Alchemist (Summoner build) took around 15 hours to complete the game. A more direct combat orientated build might do it faster but the final boss can take you up to an hour alone... it took me 40 minutes :)

3 Character types, 10-15 hours each on Very Hard mode, Hardcore mode.... already some mods out and the Devs are due to release the Game Editor ASAP so plenty of modding power will be available.

Longevity? I do believe so
