itsa shame there's no Fry's on the EC :( that $109 combo is an excellent deal for putting together a very good basic upgradeable starter system with good speed. You can start with PC100/133 SDRAM about 128 or 256 from Crucial using the AT link in HotDeals above in its own locked thread ..around $40ish to $80ish(upgrade to DDR whichever) or the Kingston ValueRam 256MB pc133 for $60ish after MIR at BB or if you quick grab and ringup on 2 different receipts the $8ish (after MIR)PNY 64MB pc100/133 at Staples , a sweet GeForce2(Visiontek) for $56 shipped from Newegg, this harddrive 30GB 7200 Maxtor for around $80( if can't figure out the deal to get it to about $80

) at 428385 at Staples, the Pine 16x DVDRom( reported to be a rebadged Toshiba ) for $60ish at BB or if you lucky the PacDigital 24x10x40 for $60ish after coupon and MIR at Staples, the $5 dollar keyboard(CompUSA Pday) and $5 dollar mouse (add to Staples HD deal listed above to get over $100 if available online or phone...always paperclips..) (CompUSA today=Pday), OS of your choice(varies from free..Linux.. to $300 WinXPPro Full Retail), a case starting from free up to ???... I get mine local for around $32(300wPSU) to $66( 350wPSU),the Pday CompUSA Pday floppy drive for $15( get mine at compshow...Mitsumi...for $10 each). Total for the elcheapo Fry 1.2 Duron=right at $400 w/ and w/out tax. Cost cutter borrow floppy drive/CDRom/DVDRom/CDRWriter from another system to do the OS loadup=$285ish

I'm headed down to Sacramento tomorrow.

Any news on the PLU or expiration on this one? I want to pick it up, and not get the runaround.

Deal is expired. Fry's ads that run Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon usually expire on Tue. Deals on Wed expire on Thur, then it starts all over again. In today's ad they have an Athlon 1800 and an ECS K7S5A for $179, PLU 3216141, if that helps.
