my sister is 15 and she wants to come visit me in chico. I'm home right now so i can drive her up no problem but I'm not going to waste that much gas/time to drive her home again and then back (bay area). I can however drive her to Sacramento and she can take Amtrak/capitol corridor back to the bay area and then my parents can pick her up. my question is: is the capitol corridor safe for a 15 year old and do they let her ride on that?

I took Amtrak when I was about 12 once, by myself. I kept to myself and had no problems.

Why wouldn't you fly? It would be much faster than either driving or riding a train to Florida. Besides the Amatrak station here isn't the greatest.

He specified Sacramento which is obviously in California. Nobody but you, and perhaps those in Florida would correlate Bay Area with Florida.

As for his question, she should be fine as long as she keeps to herself and is aware of her surroundings, times are crazy now though.

I've taken the capital corridor on many occassions back and forth from Sac. to SF. The people are pleasant and the ride is some what confortable given that it's 2 hrs. I think she should be fine given that I've seen young kids ride it.

i also don't think it's too dangerous. Arm her with some steel boots and a can of pepper spray.
