Since it looks like I'm going to have to move to Sacramento (I'm still not certain just yet, though.) how many of you live in Sacramento?

I am North of Sac about 40 miles. I was born in Sac.
Cool, like Placerville or something?

EDIT:

i'm from Sac. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT MOVE HERE. It pretty much blows.
My dad and step-mother lives there. I lived there briefly about a year or so ago. I actually like Sacramento. Sides, I really don't have much of a choice in the matter.

Sac blows. It's still a lot better then Davis though. I often take the 10 minute or so drive to Sacramento when I have nothing to do or need to buy something.

There are at least 7 of us at UC Davis alone. KEV1N, UCDNAM, Hotchic, me, UCDznutz, and some more I can't think of right now, but we're there.

If you want, we should all hang out then. I've talked to a couple people that I know live up there and we want to have lunch or something. :)

I'm sorry to hear that you have to move there. I lived in Sacramento and Davis and it's definitely one of the armpits of California. good luck to you.

I was born in sac then moved about 40 minutes east into the foothill when I was 9. It really isn't too bad. There is a lot of farm land and not as much night life as say southern california, but there's definately some cool things to do, like taking up skiing or going to yosemite or lake tahoe or just anywhere in the mountains. Nature is certainly something northern california has southern california beat on

I'm from SoCal and yosemite is about the same distance from Sacto than LA. As far as nature goes, we have the Santa Monica Mountains and the Angeles forest and nothing beats the best kind of nature than the beautiful ocean.

hmmm... ocean with beautiful women or farmland with lots of trees and cows...

you decide

excuse me but yosemite is not the same distance from sacto as from LA. Not even close. I can get their in like an hour from my house. It takes me 6 hours to drive to LA. And sure, you have the beach, but there are also beaches in nor cal. Remember, the ocean does border the entire coastline of california. Although it is pretty much too cold to go swimming in nor cal, I would have to say the views are much better. I mean there are nice rock cliffs with gorgeous views over the oceans. And you are not going to tell me that there are better forests in so cal than in nor cal. I mean so cal is a frikkin dessert (or desert?)...it's just that hollywood pays to make it look all fake and stuff

I live in Sacramento. It's not too bad, but it gets hot in the summer. If there wasn't a racetrack though, I'd probably go insane.

I'm fram Santa Cruz though, and I miss the ocean :(

Since I don't know where you live, I said from Sacramento. and it only takes me a little over four hours to get to Yosemite. Los Angeles might be considered a desert, but if it is, it's quite an oasis. And since we have been talking about Sacramento, then you can't say much about the beaches since there are none. If you referring to Mendocino, San Francisco, or Monterey, then I agree that there are some really nice views, but it would be nice to go into the water too. You want forests, we have them, but if you're referring to the redwoods up there, then they're not in Sacramento.

If you think this a NoCal vs SoCal arguement, it's not. My beef is with the Sacramento area. I've lived there and I hated it. I lived in the Bay Area and I loved it. So it's not Northern Cali that I have a problem with.

Oh ya, I didn't know Hollywood paid to make everything around me look "fake". I guess everything's a facade around here.

Oh yeah, that's another good thing...Sactown is only like an hour and a half away from the bay area. There's plenty to do in nor cal.

You know what they say about Hollywood...What do you get if you remove the tinsel? More tinsel. Anyhoo, I know that this isn't a debate about nor cal vs so cal, I'm just saying that there are nice things to do up here. So what exactly is there to do in LA that you can't do in Sactown? If anything, there is a little more nightlife but you can do the same things in cities all across America. Just because it doesn't have as many high-rises doesn't mean it's boring. And yes, there are redwoods right around Sacramento. What did you do when you lived here? Did you even get out?
