I was a huge Da Ali G show fan when it came out on HBO. Kept thinking it would be great for him to somehow trick current politicians nowadays to see what BS they spew. Really looking forward to this!!

I read recently that he got both Roy Moore and Sarah Palin completely duped for the show, got at least Sarah Palin to basically storm off they say. They've got me very interested in this show!

Ouch! That was a biting critique. I think I'll eventually watch at least the first one or two episodes this summer, or maybe just jump to the ones I do want to see, but I'm not going to be itching to watch it today or in the coming days.

Just watch the 10 minute link in the OP, dude, and . . . you know . . . think for yourself!

Too busy to get smarter on your own? Ok, go here and watch the just a little more than two minutes of Republican congressmen in positions of leadership forcefully make the case that they're credulous f*cking idiots with no sense of shame or honor. It's hilarious!

Planning to watch as well. My partisanship knows no bounds when it comes to laughing at the stupidity of politicians.

Anyone know when these start to run?

Oh God, of course there'd be controversy about that stupid rape joke he said in that interview. Because, you know, the real person Sasha Baron Cohen is basically advocating/accepting the rape of woman in that segment. He must be used to all the bitching he gets but man, it would frustrate me enough that I'd consider not doing that kinda thing if it was me.

He's a lefty but he does highlight idiocy on the right so while I don't agree with him politically I do find him funny, usually (Borat was incredible). I'll have to check this out.

You know what I didn't think about? How the irate would be so offended as to not be humored, and of course they'd write a scathing negative review.

The "repeated skit" complaints, that it's just Sacha being Sacha as he has always been, may have a kernel of truth - but what would be wonderful is if he didn't have a deep well of idiots from which to draw inspiration.

I do want to see the outtakes of those who read the scripted info and did actually recognize the name drops like Blink 182, Cardi B, Wiz Kalifa, etc. Anyone who is even remotely in-tune with culture should have alarm bells ringing the moment they read those words.

But gotta give props to that one congress critter who didn't even let it get that far - he's got some brains, that one. Some. Can't tell how much but more than the other idiots. lol

Watching episode 3 now. The iranian dude is getting a bit stale - but god damn the liberal hipster is just so good.

Sadly my wife hates it, she is pretty liberal but even when its exposing stupid conservatives she just doesjt like the concept of humor through tricking people.

Does she feel the same way about "candid camera" from the 80s, or about "The Daily Show" on comedy central, or any of the shows that it forked off?

I suspect she hates it because she likely hates Sacha B Cohen. My wife can't stand any of his characters.

She likes the daily show - or rather, she did like it when I did as well when Jon Stewart was still the host.

But yeah, considering she didn't find Borat funny, she might just hate Sacha.
