For hurried cooks, this functional knife block set offers all the most used pieces of cutlery right from the countertop, where they can be reached quickly. The knives in this set include an 8-inch chef's knife, 8-inch slicing knife, 5-inch utility knife, 3-1/2-inch paring knife, and six steak knives. An 8-inch sharpening steel and professional kitchen shears also come with the set. All pieces fit in a 14-slot solid wood block with the Sabatier logo branded on the front.
Made in China rather than France, the Perfect Grip series of cutlery is one of Sabatier's more affordable lines. Blades are hot-drop forged of high-carbon stainless steel and then hardened and tempered for durability with taper-ground edges to ensure a longer-lasting sharpness and safe, even slicing. The comfortable handles are formed of ergonomic polymer, which is less likely to slip out of wet hands.

What's really funny about those reviews is the ones that complain about rust. The real sabatier knives ( from france thiess-issard?) are high carbon steel (like these) and they rust if not dried and are not dishwasher safe. A little use and care manual, would have benefitted some of the owners.

Seems like a good price on drop forged chinese knives (which aren't really common)
