SAAB = loosely owned by GM. Subaru last I checked isn't. Do they share similar body styles/engines?

The "saabaru" 9-2x is a WRX under the skin. The interior even looks more or less the same.

And no I wouldn't be interested in an STi version as I already have the real deal. :)

Uh... I didn't know Subaru had anything to do w/ GM. Anyways, doesn't Subaru use an I4? Saab uses an H4.

Just so you know, those Saturn VUEs are just Saab 9-3 frames w/ different furnishings. :p

STI uses a H4. There was just a thread about this today comparing it to the Evo's turboed 4

Saab and Subaru have partial GM ownership. Again, the 9-2 is basically a WRX wagon.

GM owns 100% of Saab.
GM owns 20% of FHI, which makes the Subaru brand.

FHI makes the Saab 9-2X, which is a rebadged and re-skinned WRX wagon.

Getting an STi wagon would not be that hard, you just have to do it yourself.

WRX wagon: $22,000
17" wheels and tires: $2,000
Struts, springs, and sway bar: $1,000
Turbo-back exhaust: $1,000
ECU reflash and dyno tuning: $1,000

And you'll have stock STi performance (roughly 230 WHP) and handling for a total of $27k

Additional options:
Bigger turbo and FMIC: $2,000 (get 300+ WHP)
STi 6 speed transmission swap: $5,000
OR
STi RA gearset swap: $2,000

And you'll have the real deal in wagon form. And if you do the gearset swap, you'll get it for about the same price that STi's run for anyway.
