Does anyone know if they are still being produced? I can't seem to find them at newegg or ZipZoomFly anymore.

Back in Dec. the X2 4800 was at $230 and slowly going down in price. I thought I could hold out a little longer til it dip below $200 before upgrading my 3500 to a dual core, now my next option would have to be a new mobo and chip(most likely going with Intel). Unless AMD is slow in restocking these chips.

The only S939 X2 manchester or toledo chips I see are the 3800 and 4200. Perhaps someone here would know of a place that still have the 4600 or 4800 in stock. Right now, the only X2 4600 and 4800 available are in the AM2 socket format.

i'm looking for a 4600 too (or maybe a 4400 or 4800). can't find them anywhere except ebay.

i did see a few opteron x2 cpus. how do they compare to the athlon x2?

edit: I think i may just go with the opteron 175 or maybe 180.

well, do you think you could help us out instead of giving vague and useless info?

i've gone to all the major hardware sites and even a few lesser known ones and no one has them.

take the 175, it will easily match the 180 if both OC'ed in identical systems

"The AMD Athlon 64 and AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processors combine high-performance at low power, with unique features such as the integrated DDR2 memory controller supporting ECC. "

and go for the cheaper chip.... they all seem to only go to 3.0ghz on a good day...
