S939 can use DDR333?

Lets say if the mobo have DCDDR400 like ASUS A8NE and DFI ultra infinity, i havent buy it yet, but i want to know if i can still use my old 512 mb DDR333 ram on it?

Yes, just it will run at DDR333 speeds unless you crank up the speeds/change divider yourself.

its great then, how if i go buy another 2 X512DDR400 and run it in dual channel while also using this 512 DDR333??
Does that means i will have 1536mb ram running at different speed only and doesnt cause stability issues?

All ram will only run as fast as the slowest ram in you system, and the last time i looked (i could be wrong), 3 sticks of ram cannot be run in dual channel mode.

My advice to you is to get 2gb kit (2x1gb) of some DDR400 value ram from any GOOD manufacturer.

Does anyone else agree with me?

But to answer your question yes it will run, just at DDR333 and not dual channel.

I would get dual channel. Either 2x1GB or 2x512. It depends on what you do on your PC. If you game/multitask/videoedit (any one really), i'd get the 2x1GB.

Cheap Corsair Ram 2x1GB

Cheap OCZ 2x1GB

Really cheap Corsair 2x512 1gb kit

Like I said, it depends on what you do. If you game/multitask/video edit or something like that, get the 2GB kits. If your just a casual gamer and have no intention of running BF2 at max settings, then get the last one or 1gb kit.

since i dont have much money after doing a complete system upgrade, from socket A to socket 939, i plan to use 2X512DDR400 first and then add another two 1Gb DDR400 later.
So my next question is can i use 2X512 and 2X1GB in dual channel at the same time or its must be in 4X512DCDDR or 4X1GbDCDDR??

If you want to run in dual channel mode, all memory sticks must be identical. That also means that if you buy for example 2x512mb Corsair Value Select now & another 2x512mb Corsair Value Select in a couple months, they could be different sticks, different timings, and could very well be a no-go on dual channel.

Generally it's not a good idea to mix and match your modules, and besides, right now almost nothing really benefits from having more than 1 GB of RAM. Also, running 4 modules on an Athlon64 system incurs additional performance penalties because it forces a 2T command rate. Just get 2x512 MB DDR400 now, and when that's no longer enough (and RAM will probably be dirt cheap by then) upgrade to 2x 1GB DDR400.

suppose i got to sell my old 512DDR333 Apacer ram then and get a new 512DDR kingston to pair with my current old 512DDR400 Kingston. Hopefully the timing is the same so that i can run dual channel with it.BTW, isn't timing is 2-2-2-5 which is same for all rams?

2-2-2-5 RAM is usually known as ultra speed DDR400. All RAM? Not quite, most RAM go around 3.5/3.0 Lat for DDR400 and below. Anything above DDR400, you get a lot of higher latency timings.

2-2-2-5 is expensive compared to generic latency RAM.
