I'm currently talking out a system with a friend and he just sent me this link. Its to a s939 A64 3400. I was under the impression that all 3400s were of the s754 variety. Also, this 's939 3400' costs 20 dollars more than a s939 3500, which I know to be actually s939.

Think this a typo on Newegg's part?

Edit - I see this link on AMD's part, which states that the 3400 is a s754 part. Which means Newegg made a booboo.

If they have a s939 3400 now, then AMD hasn't updated their site. Googling the PN on newegg lists several sites that have s939 3400s for sale though.

Look in the amd forums for the official explanation. It is the same as the 3500+ except it only supports 800MHz HTT and will not be sold retail.
