i suddenly started getting tons of popups and freezes with a "s9.aci3.com" thing about a java update . it didn't seem right so i uninstalled java and went to their site and got their latest and greatest free version ... restarted and no change . doubled checked my vista64/defender and other updates and ran SAS and a defender scan and checked my programs list for unauthorized software ....... no change . was using chrome and switched to explorer 64 and it was laggy , but no popups . went back to chrome and checked for updates and it was some beta version and said updates were not authorized ................ this is my home computer , i built it and i'm the only one that uses it . anyhow ....... went to google chrome and downloaded their latest version , installed and restarted the computer and all seems well on chrome now ......... first time in years something has snuck in on me like that .
just thought i'd share incase someone else has this happen . BTW .... the numbers would change on the sX.aciX.com thing . i googled it with several number combination that it showed and could find absolutely nothing about it .
and as long as im here ..... is there a safer free browser than chrome these days ?
