I recently jumped on the deal at Newegg for the AMD 64 3400+ w/ the BIOSTAR NF325-A7 motherboard.

I would like to try and get this processor up to around 2.6 which I have read is possible. I have no idea how good/bad this BIOSTAR board is but since its being thrown in for free I'm sure its not the best.

I would like to find one that has good OC abilities w/ a AGP slot(yes got to use my 6800OC still).

My old setup: (everything I read said this board should be able to run 200x10 just fine but it will not even get close to that :()
NFS-7 V2.0
XP 2600+ @2.1GHz
BFG 6800OC
G.Skill 2GB
WD 80GB IDE
WD 200GB IDE
CD-ROM & CDWR
X-FI XtremeMusic

They reviewed it here@AnandtechHeck, I don't know if there is a major site *most minors one too* that didn't. Mine is a ES, so no fancy UV cables and stuff, just the board, box, manual, and driver CD. The box has a big logo with the Anandtech review on it :D And about how it was the fastest AMD 3Dmock scorer! woohoo! :p

I can vouche for the DFI NF3 250GB board. Mine's currently running a Sempron64 3100+ @ 2.6Ghz (325 HTT x 8) with the stock chipset voltage.

I'm really interested, why don't you send me a PM about what you would want for it. :)

Soltek K8AN2E-GR was right up there at the top, too.

I would give the Biostar board you already have a shot. It has plenty of overclocking features - it will EASILY get your Athlon 3400+ up to 2.6 Ghz. Its not a bad board by any means. No need to buy another motherboard for such a small (200 MHz) overclock.

I'm thinking of going with that exact same deal on the egg. Does the 3400+/motherboard combo come with a heatsink or did you have to get your own seperate?

Nope, no heatsink you'll have to pick one up.
