s754 2800+ processor with free mobo

OMG that's a hot deal. I have that exact same combo (well, except I got the OEM chip and not retail box) and I'm running 2.4GHz at low noises. Can run stable at higher speeds by cranking up fan but I choose not to. Have tested stability to around 2.5GHz and will POST at 2.7GHz. YMMV.

Now, if they'll only have this same deal but with a Sempron 3400+... 90nm process and a higher multiplier...

Ahh, motive for posting revealed, lol j/k

This is a pretty good deal for those who want to keep their agp card, and no silly non-64bit Sempron 🙂

Damn right that's hot!!! Don't let anyone talk you out of 754 either.. 754 can hang just fine with 939.

Pretty hot deal. This chip is $116 shipped at zipzoomfly.... for $10 more you get a nforce3 250 based mohterboard. Nice find OP.

What is the difference running this in stead of a barton mobil 2500+ at the same speed?
My mobile runs at 1.8 stock.

It'll feel a lot snappier due to super low latency of A64 design.. In apps it will bench equivalent to a 3200 Barton.

ITPaladin, the 64-bit Athlon mainly differs in that it has a built-in memory controller. Depending on the test, this can make a huge difference. Doom3, for example, runs about 30% faster than an equally clocked TBird.

It should also overclock better than the TBird, and the "actual results" speed should scale linearly with the clock speed. (The TBird flattens out, probably because of memory bottlenecks.)

Funny you should mention that. I just got a Sempron 3400+ running on an ABIT NV8 (nForce4-4x) @ 2.7GHz stable (9.5 x 285, 3x HTT, 1.46V). Waiting on SVC to deliver a Vantec Ion 460W and XP90 before I push it further. 😀

Not hot! Why? The motherboard is NOT FREE Because the boxed processor by it's self is $76 at newegg.com
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104245

For the same price I can get the same thing but I get to choose the motherboard I want.

Motherboards- It is $6 cheaper to choose your own.

$45 Motherboard

$44 Motherboard

Personaly I would rather have this motherboard, it is a better performer than nForce boards, especialy the nFORCE 3 that had several IO problems.

Googer as usual you can't read. Deal in question is a 1.8Ghz Athlon 64. You're pimping a Sempron 1.6Ghz.
