HEY EVERYONE ! My phone stucks in 'downloading mode' @ flashing a custom recovery mode to root my i9500 . I did everything like that tutorial says

http://www.android.gs/root-official...ung-galaxy-s4-i9500-custom-recovery-included/

Now my phone stucks at download. BEFORE THAT, odin says 'pass' but my phone was still staying on download mode. I Tried start flashing again, and that stuck at
<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..

I TRIED PULLING OUT MY BATTERY, still stuck at downloading.

IM USING ODIN 3.09 and i wanted to root my phone in order to install cyanogenmod 5.0 lollipop .

Please help me guys, idk what else i can try, but it's just a custom recovery, what can be the worst case scenario ? I have no files on it, it have been just flashed to 4.4.2 OFFICIAL firmware via odin 3.04 ! I used odin 3.09 because that says in the tutorial.

EDIT : Damn, i was into panic right now. Huh god i solved it and the phone boot. Still cant root it, give me safest possibly method to root i9500 hsdpa 4.4.2 PLEASE. Maybe a tutorial you trust or an easier way. My target is to get cyanogenmod 5.0 lollipop on that phone, that's all .

find me on IRC sometime as utkanos in #cyanogenmod on freenode, easier to help in real time than on a forum.

Be aware if you root it will trigger Knox and void your warranty (if there was any).

See here if you want to root... (make sure you pick the download for the right version of your phone, you said i9500)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292615

After root you can flash custom recovery (there are many ways to do this).
Most people I think use TWRP, but it doesn't really matter which one you pick. If you already have one, then you can skip this.

The easiest way is probably using TWRP Manager from the play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmz.soft.twrpmanager
Just run the app with root permission and it will ask you if you want to install a custom recovery.

Then, find a rom for your phone (make sure it says i9500 and NOT i9505) and flash it in recovery. Most roms will have instructions in the thread.

you don't need to root to flash a custom recovery on samsung hardware for 99.9% of their devices fwiw. Their bootloader, especially on international variants, is so permissive you can just write firmware directly. you're definitely right about the knox flag warning though.

Good to know.

That's not necessarily true.

In the EU triggering Knox and bricking your phone through a bad flash would likely get your warranty refused but triggering Knox and having your phone fail through an unrelated hardware fault wouldn't. Which seems fair enough to me.
