S3 Savage

What kind of performance can one expect from an integrated S3 graphics chip? Thanks.

Virtually none. I have used them and experimented with them for gaming. Anything above 640*480 and they die. That's if they even run the game, alot of games won't run on the integrated chip.

The S3 Virge was considered the first 3D DECELERATOR! I'd definately disable that card and get something better? Hows about a 32MB GeForce2 GTS? An excellent card with T & L capability and it now at an affordable price. A powerhouse indeed.

If you are talking about the KM133 then I have a quick review here Pc-critic.com

If it's a Savage4 (I used to have one) it can run games well at 640x480x16bit but it does have some problems. It's best to use the jgc tweaked drivers, here is the URL:-

I did like my S4, it gave me 2years of service and I never had any problems once I started using the tweaked drivers!

Just found my old S4 quake3 benchmark, here's my old scores with an amd duron 750.

FASTEST=97fps
NORMAL=55fps
HIGH QUALITY=24fps (as you can see don't use 32bit with Savage4)
