S1 on my 4870

Ok got the S1 installed and its running passively no fan right now. I put ramsinks on the memory and the tiny vrm's but I didn't put anything on the 2 big ic looking chips...

Just got finished playing oblivion for about 2 hours and the load temp was 68 🙂

Nice, full load passive is cooler than Idle stock in most cases 😛 . Early reports are that you can expect temps and power consumption to go down with the next Catalyst 8.8's aswell.

The gpu load temp was 68, the vrm's were 100, but I think that's ok too. No artifacts were found when playing any games....
