I'm trying to record videos from my computer onto my VCR but my video card has an S-video only out. The only thing I can plug it into is my TV but if I try to record, nothing is recorded. Any ideas besides a converter?

How about going to radio shack and picking up an adapter..

Admittedly, the only idea other than getting an adapter is to buy a VCR with S-video in, if such a thing exists.

an fm modulator would help you out...they are only like $15 bucks....that is the only thing that will output composite from svideo

Any decent S-VHS VCR will have S-Video in and out (as well as composite out).

svideo to rca adapters are like 4 dollars at Radio shack. I am using one right now to go from my video card to TV/VCR.

admittedly, you'll lose some quality by doing it through an adapter. Getting a S-VID-enabled VCR is still the best solution (albeit a heck lot more expensive than $4).

I agree completely, I didn't get the adapter for quality but merely ease of use. Definitely get svideo devices for better quality.
