you sure? only place ive seen it is on svideo.com. Most retail stores don't carry it b/c you're going from a better connection.

edit: he is trying to go to component...in that case, ive never seen one before.

Yeah, sorry. I read component meaning RCA composite. It's often referred to that way. I read that out of habit. Hmm...I can't say that I know of anything for HD component.
 
Actually it'd be more like a Tanscoder ("scan doubler"). You can get a decent one for about US$700.00 and up (WAY up!).

I have one on my HDTV for scan doubling the non-component video gear (S-VHS deck, Laser Disk, etc....). It spices up the DVD output some too (but that's component-to-component).

Just buy a nice receiver that does sampling like that. I know the new Yamahas do. Sure you spend a little more than the simple wire converter from Radio Shack but it'll come with a remote! A remote!!!
