S-video out question...

redly

My computer is about 20 feet away from my entertainment center. I'm curious if there is any way I can use the video out on my PC to watch movies on the TV with good results across 20ft of cable. ANy idea?

my friend used a basic 25' for his and it worked fine... I dont know what the max is for signal degredation though

It probably depends on how much interference you have. Try not to run it parallel to power lines and other cables. 20 feet should be fine.

I don't know what the limit is but 50' is fine. 20' is nuthin'. In any case, a good quality cable and lack of ground loop are key. Rather than gambling, I recommend getting one from a well known manufacturer like Mogami. Otherwise if you're feeling lucky then at least choose one that looks like heavy gauge & shielding as they vary widely.

Blue Jeans Cable

I considered linking to that (since I have Bluejeanscable in my sig), but I think $50 for an s-video cable is a little excessive. At that price, you could get a DVI to component converter and run component cables.
