s-video 7 pin!?

Hi, my IBM thinkpad has a 7 pin s-video out. I've found some places that will sell me a 7 pin male to 4 pin male adapter for 23 bucks!
I don't have a s-video cable handy but i want to know if it's possible to just use a regular 4 pin and plug that in.

The 7 pin looks like:

1 2 3
4 5 6 7

so maybe the 4 pins can just go in 1 3 4 7?

any people know if this is possible?

A 4 pin will work fine. The additional pins are for using an Svideo to RCA cable and aren't needed otherwise.
