Through Saturday, March 24th, Target retail stores offer S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl for $34.88.

This is a new PC game with both single & multiplayer modes. So far, this appears to be the lowest total release price. This title will be released on Thursday, March 22.

I thought this game was going to be a little better looking. Judging from the screens of course.
 
If the multiplayer is fun and engaging, I'm all for buying it. For $40 I think I will jump in on the fun 🙂
 
I'm probably going to pick this up just because I've been looking forward to it for so long. I just hope it's not another game I stick on the pile after playing only a few hours. :-/
 
I'm kinda surprised it's being released at such a low price, really. Hope it doesn't suck 🙂 (I already pre-ordered a copy)
 
Thanks, canceled my 29.99 pre-order and picked up in Target. The price sticker shows $39.99 but it rings up $34.88 on the counter.
Didn't have to wait for shipping and saved $2.52 compared to Fry's pre-order too! (Fry's OOS and will get 150 more copies on march 25)
 
Pretty good game, seems to have some pretty major issues on Nvidia cards, at least the 8800 series cards, with dynamic lighting. Set it to static lighting, and it runs great, and not much of a difference in image quality, but it would be nice to be able to use HDR on my 8800GTS since Nvidia said the 8800 cards could use HDR properly.

Otherwise, good game, some of the missions are a lot boring, and some of the mob texture models are...questionable, but it doesn't really detract from the immersion of the game. Haven't tried the MP yet, but I've heard good things about it. Want to play through the SP campaign first.
