S/PDIF on Plextor 12/10/32 and SB Live?

I hooked up my new Plextor 12/10/32 CD-RW to my SB live SPDIF input this morning...and nothing happened. 😛 I assumed CD audio was supposed to be output from the SB Live after I did this, but such was not the case.

Did I do something wrong, or is that not the intended function of that particular port?

Any light shed on this matter would be much appreciated. Thanks.
 
Assuming it's not a dummy port... (Some drives do feature the 2 pin digital cd out, but it's just a physical feature and doesn't work) bring up the windows full volume control. Goto "options", "properties" make sure CD Digital is checked.
Now look at the volume controls, make sure it's not muted and the volume is up.
