Ok I got the cable modem plugged into the hub and the right lights blink, but still my comp isn't recieving from the modem, do I have to configure the ip address or anything differently? If somone could help me fix this it would be awesome.

That all depends on if you are using dhcp for handing out addresses or using static addresses. One step you may want to take before the hub, is connect your pc directly to the cable modem and see if you can get on. Sometimes you have to call your ISP and give them the MAC address of your new modem and have them set it in their stuff. If you can get on without calling them, then your cable modem is getting an address from them via dhcp. Try this and let me know what happens.

You do realize that using just a hub will only give you one connection to the internet and not multiple. If you need multiple connections, a router should be utilized.
