S.O.S NO SOUND

I have a abit kA7 with a athlon 700mhz
256megs of ram
1 20 gig hd
1 Pci 128 sB
1 netgear Nic 10/100
I went to the manuafactures site and still did't resolve anything i tried the memore hole as they suggested but to no success, I have checked to make sure nothing is muted and I have the certified via drivers.
any help would do me some good thanks

Have you tried moving the soundcard into a different PCI slot?

You said you had certified via drivers? You're not trying to mess with the AC97 onboard via audio are you?

yes I have tried moving the card to a difrrent pci slot.
Also I always go with certified driver.
I just want my soundblaster pci 128 to work.
