At my SMPS the motherboard Power connector P1 has 20 pin, but in my motherboard the P1 socket has 24 pin which is 4 pin more to my SMPS, though my system is now running.

My question

1) is there anything wrong, insufficient of power to my system, as there 4 pin short at SMPS P1 connector ?

2) I propose to insert a graphic card ATI 5XXX series, than, may any problem arise ?

SMPS Model- FPS400-60THA-P

MOBO- ASUS M4A88TD M-EVO

It possibly could cause a problem. There is an extra 12V lead on those extar 4 pins

It's possible to run into insufficient power problems, but in some cases, there are no problems. This most likely depends on how power-hungry your CPU is.

Since the graphics card will draw power from the mobo, which gets power from that 24-pin connector, you'll probably run into power issues.

I solve my psu problem as-
1st collect a 4pin molex for 20+4, and 4 no wire, yellow, orange, black, red in same length of P1 cable . Now open my smps and connect as COLOR the all 4wire by soldering to the CIRCUIT BOARD OF SMPS than other end of wire to the molex as diagram given below link-
http://www.smps.us/20-to-24pin-atx.html

than I fit the smps as P1 24pin connector and switch ON the PC . Everything OK.
Befor fitting smps , I test all connection by digital multimeter.
Is my anything wrong?
