The only way is to uninstall the NVidia SATA drivers, and stop Windows Update from re-installing them (click on "Hide update").
Only the Windows generic built-in drivers will allow you to see the SMART data. But then the transfer rates are slower, so you have to decide what you want.
Otherwise - no go.
I know, I know, it's BS, but it is what it is. We've been complaining about it for MONTHS.
