S.M.A.R.T. Monitor workaround for Nvidia?

I just watercooled my hardrives and came across this annoying issue of Nvidia not currently supporting S.M.A.R.T. for Vista. Any suggestions on fixing this? It would sure be nice to know my Hd Temp...
 

The only way is to uninstall the NVidia SATA drivers, and stop Windows Update from re-installing them (click on "Hide update").

Only the Windows generic built-in drivers will allow you to see the SMART data. But then the transfer rates are slower, so you have to decide what you want.

Otherwise - no go.

I know, I know, it's BS, but it is what it is. We've been complaining about it for MONTHS.
