I have a Fujitsu 30.7 gig ATA-100 5400 RPM harddrive. I noticed in my bios that S.M.A.R.T compatibility is disabled. If I enable it, what will it do for me???
basically, the hard drive has built-in self monitoring capability. if it detects that it's going to die, it will show you on boot up. having it enabled in the bios is a good thing, though frankly you'll probably notice it's dying well before it actually warns you!
oh also continue to answer my origial question, i see what u mean, anything else? also, i know Fujitsu abandoned the hard-drive market, are they a good harddrive? I know mine is super quiet compared to a 20 gig Western Digital in my friends computer, both 5400 RPM
