S.M.A.R.T hard drives?

One of my S.M.A.R.T hard drives told me it was going bad last week. I ignored it, and guess what? It's dead now. I should have known.

Had the same thing happen on a comptuer I was working on for someone at work. Brought it over, wouldn't install windows, and then it just crashed... I think he is still pissed because "I broke his computer". Dude, it was broke the first place!. Oiy.

I've got a drive in a hacked TiVo and it says "s.m.a.r.t. error... read/write error" and it's worked ever since I put the stupid thing in...
