S.M.A.R.T. and Drive Fitness: What's it mean?

I recently got a new Samsung hard drive, and I noticed in SpeedFan last night that the drive fitness indicator is only at around 60~70%.

I already ran the full series of Samsung diagnostics on the hd before I installed the O/S and everything was reported to be fine. Upon seeing the SpeedFan report, I downloaded and ran the Exerciser in IBM/Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test last night, and it also reported back that there were no problems.

So I'm wondering... what exactly is that drive fitness indicator in SpeedFan showing? Does it mean that the hd is going to die soon or start having problems? I haven't noticed anything unusual, but I'd like to know what the heck that fitness indicator is measuring.

Don't worry about it, I've had the same thing happen to a new seagate drive. Speedfan reports 40% drive fitness on my drive. Drive fitness takes the smart values from the hd and calculates how well the drive is doing. But, I think both samsung use proprietory smart values which messes up speedfan. If you try clicking on the refresh button in the smart section of speedfan, the button with 2 arrows circling, you will see that the smart values will change each time you click on it. So ignore until you start experience real problems like bad sectors or corrupted files.
