Seems to be pretty decent right now...like back to normal? Indexing must be done?

Edit: I must have spoke too soon. Back to the agonizing slow speed. Oh well. Hopefully it finishes sooner rather than later.

Bump. On the plus side, at least I haven't seen the cypher problem. On the other hand, I did see a Bad Gateway error earlier.

Must be migrating data or working with the DB again. These guys just don't seem to have any clue what they're doing.

If this is going to be an ongoing thing, like it has for the last month of this comically bungled changeover, institute a scheduled downtime in the middle of the night like there used to be here.

There were issues with AWS. We worked to resolve them as quickly as we could. Appreciate the votes of confidence and name-calling though 😉

I understand the high school kid they hired to do the forums migration is back in class now (10th grade can be rough - new high school and all), so fixes may have to wait until after band practice.

Sorry for the inconvenience everybody, but please bear with us. As you may have noticed, the search function is more or less ignoring all content from the 2006-now period. The slow loads are the result of our efforts to rebuild the search index, which should address that problem. It does unfortunately slow the place down, but know that it is temporary and that it's happening for a reason.

Well thanks for the info, now FIX IT!

please..😉

It's worse than that. I left for a bit & came back. Now i'm getting

The underlined number will change everytime i refresh for "Duplicate entry '1486326452' for key 'expiry_date'"

Also, some pages it shows me as logged out, some pages shows me as logged in & i was logged in as another member on one page.

For some reason, can't edit posts anymore either?

Same here. Couldn't even log in. Seems okay now.
Speed is back to normal & i'm not getting any server errors BUT, occasionally it shows me logged in as "ioni".
I'll see the update to the new policy change from a few weeks ago pop up, i'll scroll to the top of the page & i'm not logged in as me. Also, if i hover over a thread title instead of showing the OP it'll say
The following error occurred:
Security error occurred. Please refresh the page & try again.

A refresh fixes it & i'm me again for awhile.

I contacted the formidable AnandTech IT team and it appears the slow load times were due to the "malevolent actions" of a coordinated DDoS attack. We blocked the IPs responsible for this attack, and things appear to be looking much better from our end. Please let me or one of moderators know if any issues persist.

These alternate login issues are due to what we expect to be caching errors. We believe the errors are superficial, that is you do not actually have access to their account and vice-versa. I've been told that the issue has been resolved by IT. If it does persist please let me know.
