Back to the old standard, it seems.

Guys, just rent a few more servers, for crying out loud. Hire some new high school kids who actually understand how to scale a forum site properly.
 
The forum is a little sluggish, sometimes feels like a bad cell phone reception or dialup lol. I have no idea why so I won't comment on that.
 
Site seems OK to me but I really havent loaded any threads with Pictures since the change to Xenforo so I dont know.. (I havent read anything here since the change except some threads ON THIS BASE and on suggestions)
 
just wanted to add I noticed the slowness as well.. seemed to be fine at about 3pm atlantic
 
I didn't notice anything on other days but today it's been quite slow. Navigation doesn't seem to be as effected but posting seems quite slow. Even the reply to this thread didn't even automagically appear, I had to navigate back to this thread/refresh the page.

Whether it was a joke or not feedback like this is not helpful. Not to mention is likely has nothing to do with the number of servers.

Sorry for the inconvenience everybody, but please bear with us. As you may have noticed, the search function is more or less ignoring all content from the 2006-now period. The slow loads are the result of our efforts to rebuild the search index, which should address that problem. It does unfortunately slow the place down, but know that it is temporary and that it's happening for a reason.

Could this not have been run at non-peak hours though (i.e. 3am not 8pm)? I would not have thought that being able to search pre-2006 posts would be a top priority which had to be fixed right this minute...

Is this why I couldn't find the Bulk Beef thread yesterday?
 
Never had performance problems, and also the first two days with the new forum, no probs. But the last 12 hours or so..something is SERIOUSLY off. DDOS? Sometimes I cant even connect, just extremely laggy performance across the board.
 
No the issue is searches are not showing POST 2006 posts. Like if you go to your post history it will show nothing after 2005.

It is kind of a big deal.
