Hey zebo

Thanks for this. First, yes I do have heat - a grand total of 6 evals. I just built my first rig ever, earlier this year, and started building heat then. I can definitely get a few more on there within a week, both from AT guys for purchases earlier this year (fornax and jdogg707).

Thanks for the heads-up re: the L2000C. And yeah, I did know about the 20WMGX2 being wide. The Dell E228WFP I bought on Boxing Day (the one I sent back the next day) was wide too, so that's the only kind of LCD I have ever seen on my desktop. I am sure the 4:3 will look a bit different, but it is image quality I am after, esp. after seeing that E228 TN panel, which looked pretty weak to me.

I'll PM you re: the heat and the LP2065 - that might work out for me, or maybe a 2070NX since I am not a gamer. As you know, Newegg doesn't ship up here, so let's see what we can do. After your QA tests, of course :)

mset: DELL seems to be delivering 20" 2007 FPWs with S-IPS RT803 panels again since December 2006...everybody, including me, are getting A03 S-IPS panels from DELL...so think about it...mine is perfect (no dead or stuck pixels, no flickering, no banding, almost no backlight bleeding)...the best bang for your buck....Hurry up!!!!

Note that my first DELL 2007FPW purchased in November had a S-PVA panel (a very good S-PVA panel in fact, issues free, but not as good as a S-IPS) so I returned it the last week of November...and arrived the new one (a S-IPS) the first week of December....Good Luck!!!

Zebo, I think there are very good, decent, and bad S-PVA panels...maybe I got a very good one...

I grabbed a NEC 20WMGX2 last week for 641 after taxes (I live in Oakville ONtario :p)

S-IPS is worth the money IMO.

My Dell [3007WFP] is pretty much perfect. (Aside from its one dead pixel...)

I can't find a single thing really lacking with it, & neither can my buddy who's insanely picky.

I asked him what he could find wrong with it, since he returned his Gateway 2485 due to issues most people can't even see, & he had not a single negative thing he could say.

Also, i'm not sure what allows this, but somewhat DVD & lower resolution video still looks insanely good on the 3007, which almost defies logic, since DVDs always looks like crap on my 204B/204T, & the resolution is so high on the 3007.

Not sure if that's an S-IPS benefit or something else, but again, seriously the best panel i have ever seen in my life after NEC's version w/ Opticlear.

2007FPW arrived in perfect shape...and...it's a S-IPS too...A03 RT803, the same as mine...I'll test it for a few days...

This is great guys, DELL is delivering A03 S-IPS panels (since December 2006) and quite good ones...

My only two "complaints" would be a slight flickering issue in some very particular (rare) cases (slight or agravated flickering depends on the panel though, mine does not flicker at all except when I set brigthness lower than 20%, and even though it's a slight flicker)...and the text ghosting effect when moving a window...but that's being quite picky since the panel responsiveness is very good in movies and games (no ghosting at all for most people).

I don't know what happens to text on desktop when moving a window but, anyway, I can't complain at all....I think it's a great panel...let's see how this new one performs...

Here you have 3 pics taken from my DELL 2007FPW (A03 S-IPS) in a dark room (lights off):

No gradient banding at all
