S@H Ionizer breaks 100!

I kinda felt like posting this just because. About 50 or so of my WU's were done on this really old P233 MMX clunker we had. A few were done on my 1GHz Tbird, but I never got back to it till I got bored a few days ago.

So after looking at F@H benchmarks and determining the computer speed hit to be less than 1%, I installed the graphical 3.08, decided to keep my 1700+ at 2600+, and found my WU time to be about 4 hrs. After doing some optimizing, I got 3.03 on the CLI (which I didn't like at first since the command prompt was in the way till I found the driver). I setup a setiqueue and got the CLI (now my avg WU time is about 2 1/2 hrs) on the other 2 PCs, and then I got crunching.

Now I got stat fever, and I want to keep climbing the ladder 🙂
BTW, SETI also gives me an excuse to keep my 1700+ at 2600+ since at least the CPU cycles are doing stuff and not getting wasted 🙂

Great to have you back into the runnings! Between those 2 Athlons, you've got quite a bit of power.
Keep those WUs comming.

Hehe, 3 PC's, actually. My 2600+ manages WUs in about 2:35, the 1600+ does WUs in about 4 hrs (3:56 avg recorded thus far), and the 1GHz Athlon B has one WU crunched in 7:03 (it's been off for the most part so that's its only WU). I hope that the Athlon B's 7:03 isn't indicative of its average performance. I really hope wu time is shorter.

BTW what is an AR in Seti? They seem to range from 0.01 to over 4.00, with the average being around 0.50 or 0.60.

You will probably average lower than 7:00 on that 1,000,000,000hz Athlon, the last 10% of the WU goes by fast though so you might see the time drop when it is almost done. My 1.2 Tbird averages 6:23 after 850WUs.

Congrats Ionizer 🙂

Let's say an AR, AngleRange, is the amount of "work" in a workunit, with a 0.417 being average. Any number lower then this takes longer, that 0.01 wu can take hours longer to do then a 4.xx wu on a slower machine.
