I just created a "Merry Christmas to Bazilla" thread. His mysterious disappearance and drop off in production is the main reason we have fallen back. I seem to remember him doing around 250 WUs @ day and he has now fallen off to what appears to be just one computer.

We need to get a plug in a "Welcome Message" in either a PM or Email to each new AT Forum Member. This can only be done by AT Management. Can any of you remember when you first joined AT Forums...did you get any kind of communications from AT?

DSL Reports is getting members at a fantastic rate because they plug DC with an Welcome email and in the corners of almost every webpage. We have gotten a Front Page Link but it has not been reorganized in such a way that NEWBIES can easily and quickly find their way to the DC Teams. I got a little correspondence/communications with the administrators of our TeAm Website right after the Front Page Link was activated, but have heard nothing since. And the direct link on the AT Front Page is as it was a month ago. 🙁

I always get people agreeing with me whenever I post this topic but the message is not getting to the right people or the right people are not doing anything about it. We really need this or we can just get prepared for DSL Reports to fly by us.

Last 24 hours we got 0 new members and DSL Reports got around 20.

Sorry for the downer but that's the way it is. 🙁
 
Well when you sign up for the forums, they automatically send you an email with your random password in it...I figure if we could get a plug above the place where the user/pass is, we could get a lot more members.
 
Like I just told Smokeball, we'd probably have to get the attention Anand and Zuni to get any changes made...could take awhile just looking at the it took to get a link 😛
 
the link was sort of an artistic problem as the main page was already somewhat cluttered and getting too big for 800x600. in theory a blurb in an email wouldn't suffer from such a fate.

not only should it be in the welcome message but also in the AnandTech newsletter.
 
I think you can sign up for a newsletter at the main site that says when they put up new articles and such.
