We gained 2200+ on IBM but gave up almost 700 to DSL Reports. We can't afford to lose 500-700 WU's/day to DSLR. At that pace they'll pass us in 10 months or so. I remember when HW France passed us. I didn't like it. I don't wanna be passed again.

Thanks Hellburner! :)

I think one reason DSLR has been out-recruiting us is because every new person that joins DSL Reports gets the following message:

or copy paste the link above into your browser.

If you do not do so within a week of getting this email,
your account may be deleted. If you have no idea why you

Message from the DSLREPORTS SETI CLUB:
DSLReports.com is not all broadband chat, we run a poplar
SETI club, to join you just need some spare CPU power.

Our team is now one of the top teams in the world, bigger
than many country and multinational corporation participants.
We've been challenged by 'Team overclockers UK', and need
your help to stay ahead of them.. And its fun too!

** I hope dslreports.com will help you TELL YOUR FRIENDS if
they are thinking about high speed choices, to check dslreports.com!

** To help spread the word about the site we kindly suggest that
if you contact an ISP, you could mention you used
dslreports.com, and more importantly, if you have anything
interesting happen after you get broadband, you come back to warn or
amuse others, by posting a review, or a message.

thanks. See you on the site!

TEAM DSLR

I highlighted the pertinent part. Now that is strong. We are just asking for a link to the main AnandTech Page and DSL Reports includes a recruiting statement with their welcome message to every new member. And remember, almost everyone that gets a dsl connection ends up there making sure they have tweaked their's just right...I did.

Until we get more assistance from "management" it is going to be extremely difficult to recruit enough new members to hold off DSLR.

Dang it! We need to send ALL new members something along those lines. We watch the new members closely so it would be easy to send a "standardized" welcome to the TeAm email. Include links to this forum and to stats. This might really help with member retention too because they will feel welcomed to the team. I seriously doubt anyone joining the team would consider it "spam" to receive such an email, in fact, they may actually expect to receive some sort of confirmation within a day or 2 of joining.

How about it TeAm!!!! I'm with smokeball on this one! :)

IBhacknU, They haven't updated their welcome message in quite a while...it's out of date. But the message gets across nevertheless. ;)

Good day for the TeAm. :)

I also think we deserve more support from the main AnandTech site... :(

Smokeball : Your idea is a good one. :) Perhaps it's possible to automatically email new members with a WARM "Welcome to the TeAm !".
(Using SetiTeam ?) I don't think it would be considered as spamming.
We need new members to stay ahead. IMO DSRL is closing to fast... :(

Thanks for the stats HB.

Polo,

We could email new Seti Team AnandTech members with a nice welcome message and that would be a nice touch. But the new members we need to email to parallel the DSL Reports effort would be the new members of AnandTech Forums. ;)

I don't know if Zuni would be amicable to such a welcome letter but I would be glad to submit a "sample" to him? :D
