There is info that BOING!! is not working. Result credits will be lost.
People running BOING!! need to switch back to SETI1. If TeAm mates continue to run BOING!! we will lose 5th place.
Units done under BOING!! are a waste of time.
On 08-14-2004 SETIWEB said "We encourage everyone to run SETI@home Classic during our server outages. SETI@home Classic makes the same scientific contribution as SETI@home/BOINC"
If BOING!! does nothing more than SETI1 then why use it.

On the 13th they said talking about a NFS issue with a snap device: "We are still investigating this issue and don't expect to be back online until the beginning of next week. In the meantime everyone have a great weekend." Weeks with out data is not helping keep 5th place.

If people are just going to concede 5th place to BBR to get a head start on BOING!! both will be lost.
If the tech minds there cant figure out why a NFS mount point is dropping do you really think that the backup (tape RAID or what ever they plan on using) is in place and working? So when everyone?s "points" are lost I will not be surprised. Will you?

Just the rambling of one man.

I agree with SNC! I will be adding a new machine as soon as I get it. Could be two more weeks.

I had installed BOINC and was running it on 1 PC, but after it has been down for so long, I just can't stand to let it sit idle. So I switched it back to SETI1.

My home linksys router stopped working the other day. Internal network and DHCP works fine, but it will not communiate with the cable modem. :(

So I have a couple of crunchers that cannot get to the Internet for a bit. :(

I've got a 3com router I will try, but MrFluffy tried to use it at his place, and it would drop the connection frequently. So I may just go ahead and setup a smoothwall firewall/router. I've been thinking about setting one up for a bit anyway. :)

Thanks Greg. I do feel a lot better. That should help the stats a little.
I have another server sitting here with a dead hard drive that was in use for a while as a Q before the drive crashed. I wonder how many are on it? Time to pull the drive apart and replace the servo.
O Joy.

I wish I could Spacehead. After 8 years now I better not. I'll join you in a cup of Tanzanian pea berry instead.
