Overall #7 ranking for Dec in the Club Teams category.

Local group production 01/13:

10 Canada..............................(+54136)............ +962
11 Linux.................................(+30921)........... +1375
12 TA.................484194................................. +1361
13 O?Grady?s Macs...................(-27307)............ +454
14 Team Nippon.......................(-59374)........... +1305
15 OS/2 Warp..........................(-68987)........... +1004
16 Matrox User.......................(-104523)........... +1265

The client switch-over and fending off the DPC are definitely showing their effects. I think the Linux team, having a lot of command line clients my not be getting as many nasty messages as most of us. Keep the search alive!!! 🙂

How soon if ever will the Linux v3.0 be cutoff? I sure hope it isn't allowed to be used longer than the windows client or our climb will become a little tougher.🙁

Thanks HB.😀

Ouch! We're definetely seeing the results of the new client and the RC5 help. The latter is okay because it's good for TA but the former just sucks. Hopefully the SETI crew will cut off the older clients and even the race. It's hard to compete when you're running at 66%.

I'm not sure if this is accurate or not but our old level used to be in the 1700-1800/day range. I'd estimate that we will settle in around 1150-1200 after everyone has switched the clients over.

Thanks Hellburner!

Robor: I'm a little concerned that the numbers might be dropping for other reasons. 1) Some folks don't like the extended times and start doing another DC project or stop all together, 2) Some TeAm member are doing RC5 because of the DPC threat and 3) Slow machines are being retired due to version 3.03.

I am upgrading my slower Cellies (300A, 366 and 433) to 900 MHz. I have taken those older chips and put them into cheap Mobo's and I'm using them for RC5. I retired a P233MMX and recycled the parts to build other boxes. So, I fit reasons 2 & 3 above. But, I am keeping my big boxes doing S@H, and adding more!

If part of the reason for our drop in production is as I speculated, then we may be hard pressed to meet the numbers you show. Thou, I see the other teams having similar problems.

The overall team stats for 1/13/2001 are:

#23 Cisco Systems............................(-11055).... +1235
#24 O'Grady's Go2Mac.com Team.......(-27571).... +463
#26 Team NIPPON.............................(-59242).... +1308
#25 Oracle Corporation.......................(-62672).... +648

It looks like we're all switching over to 3.03, as this is the slowest day I've seen for our team in quiet a while! (Still looks like some of the other teams haven't upgraded yet, though...)

Corky joined us as a new member today! Welcome to the Team!!

Remember that part of our daily stats was the influx of new members with a couple hundred WU's. We also lost about 100 WU per day + to people helping RC5 right now. The One and Darkone also had a complete shutdown this weekend, they do 100+ a day for them alone. Finally, Sunday is normally our lowest day.

I was up later than normal today so I get to say thanks to Fardringle as well!

Any word on when it's "illegal" to run the 3.0 GUI and CLI? I'm still running both of them through SETIQ. My guess is both clients are still legal to run until the DNS change, but I want to make sure.

Thanks for the stats HB. 🙂

I need to look at my logs, but my "feel" is that work unit processing time is going up, by sometimes a quarter. Maybe due to WU's with higher angles? something.

Linux should continue to have an atvantage as long as the Linux client is not going to be affected by the 3.03 change over. Thankfully I have some.
